It's a wrap- We successfully performed six full Nutcrackers at the Lakewood Cultural Center, two School outreach performances, and two Abridged Nutcrackers at Denver area Country Clubs. Great job dancers!

CBA students and Ballet Melange trainees recently returned from the Kiev International Grand Prix and Ballet Festival in Kiev, Ukraine. They got to rehearse at various schools and studios in Kiev, experience dancing on raked floors, and meet dancers from 16 countries participating in the competition. Ballet Melange trainees even attended company classes with the National Ballet of Ukraine! Avalon was a finalist in the competition and received special awards from multiple jury members for ballet events in Greece, Korea, and Moscow. The dancers attended 3 ballets performed by the amazing National Ballet of Ukraine in the legendary National Opera House, were immersed in the European arts culture, and got to practice their Russian language skills. We so appreciate our blossoming relationships with these European schools and companies!

After winning First Place in the Classical Senior Category at the 2016 YAGP Denver with the coaching of Elizabeth Shipiatsky, Beatriz received a scholarship to continue her training at English National Ballet School. This summer, she graduated from the three year program. She has now accepted a contract to begin her professional career with the Dutch National Junior Company in Amsterdam. We are proud and wish Beatriz a long and exciting career in dance!

Former CBA student, Ballet Melange trainee, and Vaganova Ballet Academy graduate Katherine Grace-Shamburek has joined the National Ballet of Ukraine. Congratulations Katie! 

Congratulations to all CBA and Ballet Melange dancers for a job well done! We are proud to announce that we were awarded First Place for the Ensemble category for Ruslan and Luidmila (staged by Elizabeth Shipiatsky)! Congratulations go to Naomi Zang-Greene (Top 12 Precompetitive Category for both Classical and Contemporary), Weston Collins (Top 24, Junior Classical), Dayne Collins (Top 24 Senior Classical) and Classical Ballet / Ballet Melange Ensemble Thaw (by Maureen Breeze) (Top 12 Ensemble).
